This is simply wrong. It is not possible to have an overall record that
encompasses fewer games than a conference record.
 
Assuming this should really be "Denver 5-5-0 (overall 7-5-0)", it means
that Denver has a 5-5-0 record in its conference, and has played two
non-conference games and won both of them, so it is 7-5-0 in all of the
games it has played.
