Keith, you are way too quick for me.
 
Tim Burton and I discussed this today and arrived at the same
conclusion you did.  It does make more sense to report the game as a
tie score and then note the SO winner.  So, this is how you will see
the scores reported in this week's Hockey East release:
 
Maine 4, Northeastern 4 (Northeastern wins shootout, 3-2)
Maine 3, Boston University 3 (BU wins shootout, 3-0)
 
Hope that settles that issue.  It's a learning experience for everyone.
