If the truth was known, I'll bet Coach Shawn Walsh of Maine views the BU
loss as a blessing in disguise. Although no coach likes to lose, the
baggage of the undefeated streak, records, etc is now left behind. Maine
can fully focus on the upcoming tournaments. Opponents can no longer
use the 'stop the streak' mindset as a motivational tool.

The players, particularly the goalies, probably felt the weight of being
undefeated. A team in that situation can unconsciously alter its playing
style in an attempt not to lose vice playing to win.

The one game format of the tournaments is brutal. Anything can happen as
Maine's NC$$ quarterfinal defeat last year illustrates. Now, Coach Walsh
and his Bears go in with a clean slate.
