The Maine State Library has been given a copy of Memorial Addresses on the
Life and Character of William Pierce Frye. We already have two copies. If
anyone is interested, please contact me offlist at [log in to unmask]
Mr. Frye was a prominent politician from Lewiston who served in the United
State Senate for 30 years (1881-1911), 15 of which he served as President
of the Senate. He graduated from Bowdoin and was closely involved with
Bates College.
