Shannon, so sorry to hear you are leaving us! But thanks for all the work
you have done here in Maine to advance early literacy. I hope you will find
equally stimulating and challenging things to do in Arizona. Enjoy your time
with family.

Subject: [PublicLibDirectors] I am moving to Arizona
Hi, everyone!
It is with great sadness that I announce to you that I'm leaving the
position of Early Literacy Consultant at the Maine State Library. Well,
both sadness and excitement. I am moving to Arizona to help my family with
some issues. I have a 17-month-old nephew that I can't wait to hang out
with!
However, I am really sad to leave this position, all of you, and Maine. I
love it here! I have lived in a lot of states, and Maine is my favorite by
far. Even though the moose have avoided me like the plague. How can I have
traveled all over the state for over two years and not seen even one?
Stupid moose. (Jared Leadbetter thinks I should write a children's picture
book about me searching for a moose in Maine, and all of the moose hiding
from me.)
It has been a real privilege to serve all of you, to see the amazing things
you are doing in your libraries, to experience the passion and love you have
for your patrons and communities, and to bear witness to your commitment to
your youngest patrons. I shall be singing your praises all over Arizona.
September 2, the last business day before the Labor Day weekend, will be my
last working day. I'll be leaving Maine around the 3rd week of September.
