Do you have two minutes of time for library advocacy today? Does your
library need infrastructure improvements? Read on...

I'm passing along this important message from ALA. All you have to do is
click the link, enter some basic information about where you live so the
message goes to the correct person, and voila! You're an advocate!:

###############################################################

Last month's midterm election means a changing balance of power in the
House of Representatives. But before everything changes over at the start
of 2023, the current Congress must finish its business, and *important
library funding issues are on the line.*

*Congress must decide next week *on government funding, and this could be
our *last chance to increase funding* for crucial library programs before
the new Congress is sworn in. *Click below to tell your members of Congress
to #FundLibraries:*

We need you to write to your members of Congress and tell them to support:

   - $20 million investment in library facilities funding – the first
dedicated facilities funding in 26 years!
   - Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funding at $201 million
   - Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) funding at $32 million

Congress will wrap up a lot of crucial business in the post-election
period, and *we need your help* so that libraries are not left out. *Add
your voice* to our request, and together we can advocate for the value and
urgency of funding libraries in every community!
