On Wednesday, November 18th @ 7P, the Cushing Public Library will host a
Zoom presentation by Chris Newell (Passamaquoddy) of the Abbe Museum. Mr.
Newell is the Abbe's first Indigenous Executive Director and Senior Partner
to Wabanaki Nations. He will discuss the present and future of the museum,
including the significant changes that began with his predecessor. Notably,
the museum is engaged in the process of decolonizing a colonial institution.
His hire has changed the perspective of the museum and positioned it as a
unique institution in the museum world that can serve as a model for others.
