Subject: [MELIBS-L] Bass Harbor Memorial Library Grand Opening video!

Over three years ago the Trustees of the Bass Harbor Memorial Library
decided
to undertake the most extensive renovation and expansion project the
Library had ever seen since its construction in 1922. On Tuesday,
September 22, 2020 I will reopen the library doors to the Tremont
community. We had to deal with the process of construction and moving into
the building during Covid and then getting all set up to do business
safely! We have been doing curbside since mid Juky but people really want
to get in the new building.

If you are curious about our opening procedure, go *HERE

The big, grand opening celebration will have to wait, and we wanted to
create something special to mark the occasion and show our appreciation to
the community the donors, patrons and extended library family. I worked
with a great local filmmaker, Thom Willey (who has made great documentaries
by the way, on painter Richard Estes and David Moses Bridges) and cast one
of our Trustee's daughters in the following short film. I thought I'd share
it with my library community as well. Thank you for all of your support and
guidance through the building process and the Covid policymaking!
