Hello MELIBS!
I am in the midst of reevaluating our Maine Collection and other Maine
related materials and have a list of items that are up for grabs for
libraries on van delivery or willing to travel to Cape Elizabeth (the beach
is nice this time of year 😉).
The biographies have already been offered up on this list once (with a fair
number getting claimed), but being a little nervous about *actually*
getting rid of Maine related items they are getting one last shot at a new
life with some of you fine librarians of Maine, kings/queens of New
England.
This project is full of self-doubt and insecurity, not helped when random
co-workers walk past my cart and say "you're getting rid of THAT?!" I am
nervous that I could potentially remove significant historical documents,
unaware of their provenance. (Also, do I need TWO copies of Glooskap's
Children?) I have to remember though, we are a public library, not a
historic repository. If anyone else has been through a weed of their
Maine-related materials and has guidance or words of affirmation to pass
along, I'd appreciate it.
Fill in your library's name in the spreadsheet if you want any of these
titles I am currently ready to part with.
