(This posting is a combination of two recent press releases
and has been slightly edited for your HOCKEY-L reading pleasure :-) wts)
 
The Officers and Board of Governors of the American Hockey Coaches
Association (AHCA)* have released the line-ups for the first Shrine
East-West College Hockey Classic, to be played on Saturday April 10th at
7:00 p.m. -- Alfond Arena, University of Maine.
 
Seventeen schools are represented among the 21 players and three coaches
chosen for the West squad.  Two players each from Miami of Ohio,
Michigan, Michigan State, and Minnesota-Duluth lead the talented squad,
which also features five players from Division II-III schools.  The
three-man coaching staff is made up of Ron Mason, head coach at Michigan
State University, Steve Nelson, head coach at Wisconsin-Superior, and
Jim Knapp, assistant coach at Minnesota-Duluth.

chosen for the East squad.  Two players each from Boston University,
Clarkson, Maine, and Yale lead the talented squad, which also features
five players from Division II-III schools.  The three-man coaching staff
is make up of Shawn Walsh, head coach of the University of Maine, Bruce
Marshall, head coach of the University of Connecticut, and Brian
Durocher, assistant coach at Brown University.
 
Sponsored by the Anah Temple of Bangor, ME, proceeds from this game will
benefit the Shrine Hospitals for burned and crippled children.
 
Any player unable to participate will be replaced by one receiving
Honorable Mention.
 
Note: NCAA regulations limit participation in this game to seniors only.
