You're right - RPI doesn't have nets.  From where I sit (high in the corner
above the home goal) I can see the pucks on the heating/ventilation
ducts.  And I went to school with a tuba player who had an athletic-tape X
on his tuba where a puck dinged it...

Do I recall seeing nets in Appleton in recent years?
