Call me anal. I posted something along these lines four years ago. I know
it is poor netiquette to make comments about spelling, but I just cannot
resist. Apparently someone missed the message when I posted it then.

On the WCHA website at
http://www.fansonly.com/schools/wcha/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/031901aaa.html
regarding the regionals, the press release reads:
The NCAA tournament gets underway this weekend with the East Regional in
Worchester, Mass.

The correct spelling is W-O-R-C-E-S-T-E-R. There is no H in Worcester,
either in its spelling or in its pronunciation. It is pronounced in New
Englandese Woostah, as in Worcestershire sauce. And yes, according to the
1990 census, it is the second largest city in the six state region (you can
look it up at http://www.census.gov. Don't ask me about the 2000 census).

All this from someone who has never lived in Central Mass. See you at the
Centrum this weekend. If you're watching at home, I'll be the guy with the
Boston accent wondering who to root for.
