* I'm still hoping for some dream matchups in the NCAA Tournament between
"balanced" Eastern teams such as UNH / Maine and "unbalanced" (dominating
O or D) Western teams such as MSU / NoDak. These games should be real
  treats to watch ...

> 6 Colorado College 25 10 1 4.03 6 2.27 8 1.78
> 7 Clarkson 21 10 1 3.84 9 2.31 10 1.66
> 8 Providence 18 15 1 4.46 5 2.87 25 1.56

* But not all the ranked Eastern squads are "balanced," nor are all ranked
Western teams relying on offense *OR* defense. If PC and BC make some
hay in the HE Tournament, their unbalanced attacks may cause trouble in
the NCAA Tournament as well ....

> 13 Ohio State 19 13 5 3.07 24 2.24 5 1.37
> 15 Denver 22 12 2 3.88 7 2.89 26 1.34
> 17 Rensselaer 20 10 2 3.85 8 2.94 29 1.31

* Note that there's a crowd of unbalanced bubble teams, but it's clear that
if you're gonna be unbalanced it helps enormously to be able to put the
puck in the net .... Defensively weak teams like Denver and Rensselaer
that can also score still have good chances to make the NCAA Field of 12,
but defensively strong teams like FSU and UAA that struggle to score 2
goals on a GOOD day may be on the outside looking in unless they can
step it up in their respective league Tournaments:

    ....
> 35 Alaska-Anchorage 13 16 5 2.03 43 2.25 6 0.90

* The best time of the year is now upon us - let the games begin !!! :)

Cheers from the Chesapeake - Jim
