I would guess the Big Ten economist would at least know that Iowa State
isn't in the Big Ten.   :-)  It might be good idea if the President would
hire a Big Ten AD to balance the budget because most of the Big Ten athletic
budgets are in the black.  By the way, maybe it is because an eastern
economist was replaced by a Big Ten economist that the federal budget is
currently running a surplus.
 
I know its been discussed several times but if Illinois and Penn State go
Division I in hockey, I would being willing to bet a Big Ten Hockey
Conference would eventually follow.

Probably but LAX is a growing sport in the Midwest.  Ohio State will be
giving its first lacrosse scholarship this year and plan on upgrading the
sport.
 
If I was a betting man, I would bet Western Michigan would
