My understanding from the times that this has been discussed before on
Hockey-L, most of the MAAC teams are already counted in the total
Div-I population by the NCAA when it comes to deciding how large a
playoff there will be. These would be Canisius, Connecticut, Fairfield,
Holy Cross, and Iona. AIC being Div-II and Quinippiac moving to Div-I
in all sports are not currently counted. As expected, I have managed to
forget one school.

On another front, last October, it was announced that Primestar would be
installing a satellite system in the apartment building where I live.
When I saw the details (boy, there are a lot of details), I noticed that
one of the options was to get something like 23 sports channels from around
the country for $2.99/month. (I missed the fine print that stated that
events would be subject to blackout, and this includes NHL, MLB, and NBA
games and I assume also the eight games next weekend which I get on UHF
anyway.) Supposedly, installation was to be completed by the end of
December, so I was thrilled because RPI was going to be on NESN and/or
Empire three times. Well, installation is still not complete, but I was
hooked up two weeks ago, so I managed to overdose on hockey over the last
two weekends. It's amazing how often one can see some events on various
Fox outlets. If someone shows the story on Roberto Clemente once more, I
may actually decide to watch it.

On Sunday, I went bikeriding, and between looking at the clouds and trying to
decide why I was so foolish to be out in 40deg temperature with threatening
clouds 40 miles from home, I correctly decided who would be in the tourney
(not difficult), and I made the same error that many others have mentioned of
moving UNH out west.

Does anyone but me think that the reason that Princeton beat Clarkson is that
Princeton has a team that is more suited for the larger ice surface in Lake
Placid than Clarkson is? (I have reworded this sentence several times to
attempt to remove the flame bait. :-) )
