   OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) -- Hockey East champion
Boston University and Central Collegiate Hockey Association
winner Michigan received the top seeds Sunday night for
the 12-team NCAA tournament.
   Boston University (30-7-1) opens play in the East Regional
at Albany, N.Y., on Saturday night against the winner of
Friday night's first-round game between No. 4 Wisconsin
(25-14-1) and No. 5 Western Michigan (24-12-3). The Terriers,
making their 20th appearance in the tournament, beat
Mass.-Lowell 3-2 in the Hockey East final on Saturday night.
   No. 2 Harvard (23-4-4), which beat RPI 3-0 in the Eastern
Collegiate Athletic Conference final on Saturday night,
faces the winner of Friday night's game between No. 3
New Hampshire (22-13-3) and No. 6 RPI in the other quarterfinal.
   Michigan (33-6-1) begins play in the West Regional in
East Lansing, Mich., on Sunday against the winner of
Saturday's first-round game between No. 4 Lake Superior
State (27-10-4) and No. 5 Northeastern (19-12-7). The
Wolverines beat Lake Superior State 3-0 in Sunday's CCHA
final.
   No. 2 Minnesota (24-12-4), the Western Collegiate Hockey
Association champion, faces the winner of Saturday's game
between Mass.-Lowell (22-9-7) and Michigan State in the
other quarterfinal. The Gophers, making their 21st appearance
in the tournament, beat St. Cloud State 3-2 in overtime
in the WCHA final on Saturday night.
   The quarterfinal winners advance to the championship
round in St. Paul, Minn., on March 31 and April 2.
