The game was definitely lackluster. For some reason it seemed lilke neither
team came out and played with intensity or charisma.

Colgate still seemed shellshocked from their 7-6 loss at Achilles the
previous night, and RPI was just RPI on an off night.

Give Colgate a lot of credit for coming back the way they did.
Seems that every time the Engineers would score a goal, the Red Raiders
would come right back and score to tie it up. This happened 4 times.

Colgate capitalized on a lot of odd man situations that developed in the
neutral zone, and this caused them to tie it up 3 of the 4 times they did.

RPI had a lot of chances, mostly controlling the puck in the Colgate zone,
but just unable to get off shots which were decent enough to beat Matt Weder.
RPI had to work for their goals, and Colgate matched them.

4-4 going into OT.

RPI controls off the draw, and Hameliln takes control in his own zone. Gets
it up to the senior Ronnie Pasco who drives in on RW. He heads to the net and
at the bottom of the circle takes a shot, save Weder, rebound score.
Engineers win in OT for the first time since 3/7/92 when they beat Harvard
in the quaters of the ECAC's.

Notes:
1) Brad Layzell went down in the second in a collision with Earl Cronan
of Colgate. Bardo may be back for next weekend against Union.

2) People talk about Bruce Gardiner as an All-American candidate. I liked
the p[lay of Dan Gardner a lot better.

3) RPI now seems to have 2 lines back as Pasco-Hamelin-Clarke and
Regan-Richardson-Brick have picked it up. THe line of Gabriel-Majic-Perardi
is also picking up the slack, and O'COnnor-Askew-Matthews has ground with
the best. If the Engineers can get on track and get rid of some defensive
lapses, they will go far in the playoffs.

See ya'll at the Fieldhouse for the Capital District Showdown!
