Despite a great weekend of hockey last weekend, the Wisconsin Women's
hockey team will not be skating in the Minnesota State tournament.
 
We won 3 of 4 games, which when added to our two wins the previous
weekend gave us a final record of 17-6-1, much improved over last
year where we won one, tied one, and lost the rest.
 
Apparently we missed the tournament by one game, since going into the
weekend we knew that we were in a must win situation.  Unfortunately
we dropped the first game to the Flying Zamboni Sisters 4-2.
 
We then went on to win the last 3 games, which included sweeping the
Gophers 5-2 and 3-1, and beating the Zamboni's 3-2 in the rematch.
 
I must admit, that while we are not one of the big sports, it was
a big lift to be able to defeat Minnesota in the year of the curse.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm just noting that I think
many of the women on our team felt there was more to the game than
just a hockey match up.
 
Fortunately our season is not quite over as we are playing in a
tournament in Duluth March 11-13.
