First off, it wasn't a slam directly on UML. Remember that the author
made the smae comment about ECAC teams not wanting to "waste" games wtih RPI.
 
The point is that any coach of a top team wants to expose his team
to as many quality teams as possible. Any HE team will already be
playing UML twice (or is it 4 times?). The two teams will already
be familar with each other's style and such. Whereas, if they
chose to play a team from another league, they would be getting
exposure to a different style of play.
 
The game would be meaningless not in that UML is a pushover but
in that a win would not affect the teams HE record nor would it
expose them to a different style of play.
 
Sheesh.
