The Penn State Icers continued their winning ways as they demolished Atlantic
Collegiate Hockey League foe Delaware 9-1 last night in Newark, DE in front of
a standing room only crowd of 800. The Icers took the lead 1-0 around the
9 minute mark of the first, but the Blue Hens answered back quickly. Penn
State took control after that, scoring twice more in the third, once in the
second (after killing off three power plays), and four times in the third.

Scoring for the Icers: Dave Murphy (2), Rob Keegan (2), Ross Cowan (2),
Chris Cervellero, Jason Niedt, Erik Lightner

Shots on goal: PENN STATE 41, Delaware 15
John Gray, PSU: 12 shots - 11 saves, 17-0-0
Derek Lecours, PSU: 4 shots - 4 saves

The Icers are now 21-0-0 (6-0-0=12 ACHL, 1st)...Ross Cowan's first goal on
the night was his 100th career goal, while his second was his 30th on the
season...The final rankings are out for the ACHA (in order to give teams &
fans time to make plans for the ACHA National Tournament, March 3-6 at North
Dakota State), with Penn State holding the number one spot for the Tournament.
This will probably mean that the Icers will face the #4,5, and 8 teams in the
round-robin portion of the Tournament. I will post complete rankings when I
get them. Missing out on the ACHAs: Rhode Island at #10, Delaware at #11...
Penn State is on the road again this afternoon at 5 PM in King of Prussia, PA
to face the West Chester University Golden Rams.
