College Team: University of Nebraska-Omaha
Official Name of Rink: Omaha Civic Auditorium (as the name states, it's a
city facility, not a university one)
Common Name(s): The Bullpen, The Civic Auditorium, The Civic
Date opened or first used: Ice was installed in 1996 or 1997 for the 97-98
UNO season, not sure when the arena itself first opened, I know it's at
least 25-30 years old.
Date last used: current
Capacity: 8,314
Ice Surface Size: 200x85 (NHL)
Previous Name(s) - no clue
Date of name change(s) and/or renovation(s): 1995-1997 it was extensivley
renovated, first for general use (including Creighton basketball) then later
the ice sheet was added for UNO hockey. Before it looked awful and run-down,
now it looks pretty good for as old as it is, and when the ice sheet is out
the arena looks like it was made for hockey.
