From my vantage point at the game, there appeared to be a point in the
game when Brian took a pretty good hit into the boards across from the
player bench.  He headed right for the bench (albeit a bit slowly)
despite the puck only being in the neutral zone.  It sure looked like he
knew he needed off the ice immediately.
