Question: What is the rationale for fielding a D-1 team that (a) does not
belong to one of the conferences and, more importantly, (b) does not
schedule a sufficient number of games against D-1 opponents to qualify
for consideration for the NC$$ D-1 tournament? Put differently, why don't
schools like UConn just drop their hockey programs to D-3?

Any and all insights appreciated....
