Today's Chicago Tribune article update:
 
Well, not much to say.  UIC has folded it's hockey
team, and they claim it is unrelated to their recent
activity involving the basketball team.  Yeah, right.
The players have until the April 10 deadline to transfer
to other schools if they want to continue to play DI hockey.
Not much else of note in the article, except a quote from
a father of a player who said that he had been told by
athletic director Schmidt on March 14 (at the awards banquet)
that the program was safe and would not be folded.
I guess the word of the athletic director isn't worth too
much these days, when trustees hand the decisions down to
the schools.  The lack of regard for the student-athletes
has really been appalling.
