I'm surprised that no one has posted any accounts of this game, it was so
exciting. More than 11,000 fans watched this game (at least that was what
was announced). It may have been the college hockey game with the most fans
at it in the country last night (don't know what the crowd was at the Joe
Louis arena for the MSU-LSSU game). My home season tickets are 4 rows from
the ice and my seats for this game were 10 rows from the heavens. I think
the game got over a half an hour before the sighting of the game reached our
seats. Still, it was interesting to watch a game from a completely different
angle/height/point.

UM scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes to make it look like a blowout and
then fell asleep the rest of the way. It was a tie game for the next 49
minutes (1-1) until Brendan Morrison scored an empty netter. UM scored on 2
power plays, shut down a 5 on 3 for over a minute, and did not score a
short-handed goal. Scorers tonight for UM were Botterill, Muckalt, Morrison
(all on the same line), Herr and Halko. Halko may have deserved the number
one star of the game, we're not sure, none were given out tonight.

Perhaps UM was looking ahead to tonight's game against MSU who beat LSSU at
the Joe last night. This should be a great game - it will be the first very
tough game for UM since December against WMU (with apologies to the BGSU game
last month that UM lost).

Red made a line change (probably last week at games that I did not see),
switching Herr and Madden from the first and third lines. Herr has responded
by scoring several goals.
