The team of doctors which operated on Travis today are currently
holding a news conference at BU Medical Center. Since in is being
held when the local stations are bradcasting their evening news, none
of the station remained live for very long.

Dr. Reed, who lead the team of doctors during the operation, gave
about a 4 minutes medical history of Travis' condition from the time
of his injury through the just completed operation. As far as I
understood his medical terms, he gave no new infromation on Travis'
condition. After his opening statement, reporters started asking
questions, at which point the three Boston TV stations all dropped
their live feeds within about a minute of each other.

Of the question I did here answers to, Dr. Reed said that Travis'
condition was still guarded and he was still in spinal shock. Until
the swelling goes down it will be impossible for any diagnosis to be
made regarding the chance of recovery.

Dr. Reed also stated that they will be leaving the breathing tube in
place for several more days, but hope to remove it in a week or so.

It will likely be tomorrow, when I can read the paper, before I can
learn more of what was said at the news conference.
