Providence College's Paul Pooley has landed his first recruit since
signing on as PC's head man this summer. Mike Omicioli, 5'7" 160,
is currently at the Gunnery School in Washington, Conn. He previously
attended LaSalle Academy and led their 1993 team into the RI state finals
vs. Mt. St. Charles.

Pooley had begun recruiting Omicioli while associate coach at Lake State
after seeing him at a USA Select team camp in Colorado. Pooley is
quoted as saying "I was fascinated by his skill level. He just stood out
and stuck in my mind."

Omicioli was a member of the National Select 16 and 17 teams in 1992 and 1993.
He led LaSalle in scoring with 20 goals and 31 assists, and had 22 goals
and 29 assists at the Gunnery School last season.
