OK.. So it's not hockey per se but a hot topic here anyway.
I found out at a recent alumni meeting (University of North Dakota
Fighting Sioux) that the university administration has discussed the
Fighting Sioux name with all the leaders of the local native american
nations.  The leaders were much more concerned that educational opportunities
for native americans be given higher priority than team name changes.  North
Dakota has a good track record here; graduating more than 25% of all native
american physicians in the country.
 
All the other talk centered on long-time coach Gino Gasparini's resignation.
