We invite you to join the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education for our next installation in the Monday Map Lunch Series on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 12:00 PM, with Dr. Susan Schulten, Professor of History at the University of Denver. Dr. Schulten will discuss her forthcoming book, "Emma Willard: Maps of History," which will be followed by a conversational Q&A.

This event will be presented on Zoom and tickets are limited to the first 150 registrants. This event is free and open to the public.

About the Author
Susan Schulten, PhD, is a professor of United States history at the University of Denver, and the author of A History of America in 100 Maps; Mapping the Nation: History and Cartography in Nineteenth-Century America; and The Geographical Imagination in America, 1880-1950, all published with the University of Chicago Press. She is also the co-editor of Constructing the American Past: A Sourcebook of a People's History, published in 2018 by Oxford University Press. She received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, and her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.

About the Series
The Monday Map Lunch Series will take place from 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM on the last Monday of the month (with the exception of holidays), and will run through June, 2022.  Each month scholars and practitioners from near and far will share their current endeavors in an informal (Zoom) environment with plenty of time for a robust Q&A session.
