Vose Library is a non-profit community library situated in the town of
Union in mid-coast Maine. We are seeking a part-time Library Assistant who
is responsible for administration of all library functions established by
the Library Director. The Library Assistant is expected to work closely
with the Director to meet the changing needs and interests of the community
within 10 hours per week.
A. RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure day-to-day activities of the library are successfully implemented in
the following areas:

assist patrons at circulation desk
-
assist patrons with interlibrary loans
-
assist patrons with copier, computer, and/or Internet use
-
accession all books, audio books, and periodicals; maintain the catalog
-
maintain confidentiality of library records
-
conduct tours of the library
-
support volunteers in typical day-to-day activities as appropriate
-
assist Director in collection management by collaborating on new
purchases
-
monitor social media account/s (example: Facebook)
-
create and publish a newsletter (weekly/bi-weekly) that includes
information from multiple sources (i.e. volunteer coordinator, Director,
patron feedback, etc.)

perform other duties as necessary and delineated by the Director

C. EXPECTATIONS

Willing to work evening hours and Saturdays from 9am – Noon; with some
flexibility

Enthusiastic about joining our Tech Team and Tech Tuesday

Skilled in crafts a plus!
