Good afternoon!

I wanted to share some info from the Union of Concerned Scientists. We've worked with their volunteers for two programs so far and both have been great experiences. They are trying to make connections with Maine libraries. Please see the paragraph below for more information about what they have to offer. Thanks!

What is the Maine Climate Action Plan, and What Does it Mean to You and Your Town?
The Maine Climate Council submitted their final plan to Governor Mills in December. Putting the 4 year plan to work will influence the future of community preparedness, transportation, agriculture, energy, coastal and marine issues, and forestry. Thanks to the generous commitment of Maine volunteers, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) is offering a free hour-long education presentation in 2021 for general adult and high school audiences on climate change in Maine and the Maine Climate Action Plan. As in 2020, the Maine volunteers presenting the educational program are local members of the UCS Science Network and their biographies are available upon request. Libraries interested in more information and to schedule a presentation with a Maine scientist are invited to contact Jake Roche [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or Roger Stephenson [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. ?
