Hello,
Although this doesn't apply to the entire state, patrons/libraries in Region 1 can access Consumer Reports online with a Portland Public Library card. Cards are available through our 48 PALS libraries, or through Lending Services at PPL.

I asked Tim Pellett, Library Support Specialist at Maine InfoNet, about this a couple of years ago, and here is his reply:
"The state of Maine has moved from EBSCO to Gale for the core set of resources. As a result, we lost full text content for Consumer Reports from 2009 - present. If not mistaken, think EBSCO has exclusive rights to that content, so not something Gale can provide us. It was a hit for us, that we are aware of.
In our current setup, we only have full-text access from 2009 and earlier."

Current issues of Consumer Reports (actually July 2009 to the present) are not available in Digital Maine Library. This is a change from what MARVEL used to offer.
January 1996 through June 2009 is available.

Hi,
I have someone looking for Consumer Reports online. I have accessed GALE on Digital Maine Library but wondering of there is a better way. We have CR All-Access subscription but it seems if I share that with patrons then they have access to our personal info. What is the best way to give patrons access to this magazine?
Thank you,
Andrea
