Dear Colleagues,

You are invited to the Maine Authors Book Festival on Saturday, August 27 from 11-4.
Free admission! Author signings (meet over 50 participating authors), raffles, opportunity to browse the stacks,
live music from Castle Bay, food, refreshments, and presentations.

This year, Laurie Chandler will present, "Writing the Experience and Spirit of Place". Laurie is the author of two books on the Maine wilderness: Upwards, about her solo paddle of the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail, and Through Woods and Waters: a solo journey to Maine's New National Monument.

Also presenting is Laurence H. Leavitt, author of Ada Bea McC, a children's book about a little girl "from away" who tries to befriend the town's most cantankerous resident. It is a wild rollicking battle of wills. Larry's audiobook version is narrated by Tim Sample.
