*What is happening?*
This evening (December 13th, 2021) US:IT Staff will be
performing maintenance on a portion of the UMS Single Sign-On system.
Existing sessions to applications should not be disrupted.
If you receive an error message, you should wait a few minutes and try
logging in again.
*How long will it take?*
The actual downtime during the maintenance window is expected to be less
than 10 minutes, with the remainder of the time being reserved for testing
and verification of the change.
*Why is this work necessary?*
- New core software updates have become available. Getting software
updates applied to systems in a timely manner protects all members of the
UMS community.
- Application of a high-priority update to the CAS SSO application
itself is required.
*What happens if the work is not successful?*
If the server does not resume normal SSO processes on its own within a
reasonable period of time then staff will troubleshoot it.
