I have also noticed that at games played outside of Boston, there is a
much better chance that there will be a Globe reporter there than a
Herald reporter (when a Boston team is playing).  This must be why.

And isn't the Globe's 1st edition deadline even earlier?  I seem to
remember that when HE moved up its home game starting times to 7:00
back around 1987, one of the big reasons was publicity.  Starting
earlier means ending earlier, and HE wanted to be able to hit the
first editions of the Boston papers with its teams' scores and game
stories.  I always considered that to be a great marketing decision.
