Adam Wodon of USCHO writes

Ed Caron, who requested and was granted a release from the New
Hampshire program last month, has decided to transfer to Yale,
   according to sources.

in his USCHO article "Caron transferring to Yale" available at

   http://www.uscollegehockey.com/news/2002/05/08_004429.php

My question is: what is this "release" from his current school? (It is
not a release to play next year, as, per NCAA regulations, he will have
to sit out next season while attending Yale (He may practice with Yale).

cheers, wayne
