The 99-00 CCHA schedule is tentativly set. The schedule will have 28
conference games. UNO will be in a scheduling group with Notre Dame,
Michigan St., and Alaska-Fairbanks, which will all play 4 games against each
other (2 home, 2 away). UNO will then play 2 home games against LSSU,
Western Michigan, Bowling Green, and Miami(OH). UNO will play 2 on the road
against Michigan, Ohio State, Ferris State, and Norhtern Michigan.
 
In non-conference action next year, UNO will play 2 at home with Merrimack
and Minnesota-Duluth, 2 on the road in Denver, and will play in the
Wisconsin Badger Hockey Showdown over Christmas break (along with UNO and
Wisc. will be Miami(OH) and North Dakota).
 
UNO resumes play Friday at Niagra after having last week off. UNO is looking
to break out of the "sophmore jinx" after starting the season 1-7-0 (last
year through 8 games they were 4-4).
 
David-Noel Bernier could possibly be back in the lineup this weekend, after
sitting out the past few series due to an ankle injury.
 
Props to the Omaha World-Herald for giving Eric Olson a weekly college
hockey column. Though most of it is centered around UNO, he also mentions
stuff going on around the CCHA and stuff around the sport in general.
 
To combat the 1,000+ no-shows a game, UNO is starting up "rush" tickets,
similar to those at Minnesota and North Dakota. Rush tickets will go on sale
at the 10:00 mark of hte first period, cost $8 (50 cents less than the
cheapest "real" tickets) and allow people to sit in any unoccupied seat. If
the real ticket holder shows up, the rush ticket person will have to move.
Rush tickets will start being sold at the RIT series in the middle of December.
