NCAA RECOGNIZES INCOMPETENCE OF REFEREES
The NCAA has not only taken the names off the referee's stripped
jerseys, but they have eliminated any numbers or other form of
identification. Chances are they allowed the refs to wear their own
pants which might have a league designation. (normally a velcro tag that
is easily removed or replaced with an NCAA tag). Someone who is bad at
their job will naturally try and hide. If no information is available,
then no criticism can be directed (nor praise). This is a particularly
poor administrative choice by the NCAA. If the refs cannot take the
heat, then keep them out of the kitchen.
