What about this:
Thursday:
Game 1: # 1 vs #5 winner to finals
Game 2: # 3 vs #4
Friday
Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs Loser Game 2 (loser gets 5th)
Game 4: #2 vs Winner Game 2
Saturday
Game 5 Winner Game 3 vs Loser Game 2 (third place game)
Game 6 Winner Game 1 vs Winner Game 4 (Championship)
This setup rewards the #1 seed (assuming they win). They get a day off
against either the #2, 3 or 4 seed.
In this setup, everybody plays at least 2 games and somebody may play 3.
It also gives 6 games and keeps everybody there for at least 2 nights.
It also make Thursday night interesting.
Think the WCHA and ECAC would try this? NAH!
