Neal Broten was talking with Son of Scud, er, I mean Chad Hartman
yesterday afternoon on my drive home from work on KFAN 1130AM.  The true
story, directly from Neal, is that the Stars told him in June that he is
not in their plans for this year.  Since then, Neal has been living his
life with his wife and kids, and has been waiting to see if anyone will
call him.
 
He said that he would like to hear from someone before training camp
starts up (Presumably so that he can get the whole camp in and learn
systems, etc.), but also realizes the possibility that he may not get a
call until someone else gets hurt or something like that, or maybe no
call at all.
 
He said he has had 17 great years of hockey, and if no one calls, that's
the end and he's happy either way.  He said he still has the excitement,
and it would be great to play some more, but he's also got a great
family, and it would be great to stay home with them.
