Opinions? I think the committee would be very quick to say that it does not use any of
its own opinions in the selection process (any more). They just look at the numbers.
 
In the case above, the committee would look at the criteria for each team to
decide whether to invite BG or UW. They use a point system based on the
following stats:
 
 
   Rating
   Head-to-head record
   Record vs. teams under consideration
   Record vs. common opponents
   Record in last 20 games
 
 
Whichever team gets more points would be selected over the other.
 
 
They have it all down to a "science"; there really aren't any opinions
involved at all.
