This is only partly correct. From what I understand there are
basically two "champions" declared in HE.
      1. The Regular Season Champion
      2. The Tournament Champion

With BU's loss to PC it appears that Maine will be the regular season
champion, however as we all know anything could happen.
From what I have gathered reading hockey-l over the past year that it is
this championship that "matters" in the eyes of the NCAA now (winner of
regular season recieves auto bid, rather than tournament champion), largely
the result of CC not being chosen for the NCAA Tournament last year.

As for the HE Tournament Champions that remains to be seen. At this
point, UMass-Amherst has an equal chance of being crowned Champions as
either Maine or BU do.

I believe this to be correct. I am sure if it is not someone out there will
be nice enough to correct me. It is hard to keep up with all the changes
from here.
