First of all, I'll admit to having gotten to see all too little of BU
since I am a cable-TV-less soul with a 3.5 hr drive to Boston. However
just what I've seen has been plenty to show that this is an incredibly
unfair distortion of Grier's play. First of all, I've seen the guy
play with such hustle that he sparked the whole team. He works to make
a play happen. He digs that puck out when you don't think he has a
chance. Even the very necessary role of camping in the crease is no
picnic no matter how big someone is. Plenty of huge guys get ridden out
just as the play develops - result? an easy save. A recent article
pointed out that Grier had worked like hell in the off-season to
transform his fat-percentage and strength - the guy's not just big,
he's incredibly fit and strong and knows how to use his size.

I'm willing to bet that as a great play maker, Chris would be one of the
first to appreciate the importance of Grier's role. Who are these people
who have underrated O'Sullivan? The guy came in highly touted and has
lived right up to that billing. He'll get all the recognition that he
has earned. Why trash Grier for working with him to build a great team?
