I'm in my ofice waiting to go over to the Alfond for Commencement
and HOCKEY-L seems moribund. The students must all be on their way
home! I'll post this (although I wasn't there) and maybe later
someone who saw the game can give a full report. St. Cloud doesn't
seem to have been really in it from the start. I listened to the
part of the first period and Maine had all the action. Maine only
scored once (does anybody really need to be told we have no shooters
this year?), but never let St. Cloud get it in gear. The St. Cloud
coach was quoted as saying their game was to dump the puck in, then
use their size and weight to grind the other team down, but Maine's
speed never let them ge started. By the time their forwards got in
Maine was flying out. Incidently, BU played the same game but with
much better success.

I think Maine ran off the next four goals, but the visitors finally
got on the board with about 5 min. gone in the third. At the end
(~5 min. left) Walsh lifted Allison and let Marsh get some playing
time. Same two teams on local television tonight at 7:30.

BTW - no sellout last night. With a lot of the students gone and a
team nobody knew in town there were tickets available. Anybody
remotely near can call 581-BEAR and see what's left for tonight.
