HOCKEY EAST ALL SPORT CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
(For the first time this season, two players share the award.)
Martin Legault, Merrimack, Sophomore, Goaltender. Legault, a
Gloucester, ONT native, put on a first-rate performance against
unbeaten Maine as he made 74 saves on 80 shots over two games. The
second-year standout backstopped the Warriors to a 3-3 tie Friday
night along with stopping 5 of 6 shots in the Warriors' 2-1 sudden
death shootout win. He followed that up by limiting the Black Bears
 to three goals in Saturday's 3-1 loss. Legault's .903 save% ranks him
first in HE play in that category (.902 overall), and his 3.50 GAA is
third best in the league (3.63 overall). His 668 minutes played is
second in HE to Maine's Blair Allison (737).
Dennis Burke, Providence, Junior, Forward. Burke, who had not scored
this year going into the Friars' weekend series with Northeastern,
broke out in spectacular fashion with five goals in two games. The
Newton, Mass. resident scored PC's first goal in the 3-3 tie with the
Huskies, and then followed that up with four goals in PC's 10-3 win
 Saturday night.
HONOR ROLL: Chris O'Sullivan, BU; Eric Flinton, UNH; David Hymovitz, BC.

HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mark Mowers, UNH, Freshman, Forward. Mowers scored two big goals in
UNH's two victories this past week over Harvard and UMass-Amherst.
The pride of Whitesboro, NY, scored the Wildcats' first goal after
they trailed Harvard, 2-0, and helped to fuel UNH's come-from-behind
win. In the win over UMass-Amherst, the sharpshooting rookie broke a
2-2 tie with his fifth goal of the season in the second period.
HONOR ROLL: Tom Noble, BU; Jamie O'Leary, BC; Scott Fankhouser,
UMass-Lowell.
