Badgers lead 2-1 after first period, but were then blown out in the 2nd
and 3rd periods by the Wolverine's superior speed.
 
Minnesota's team captain Justine McHugh lead the Gophers to victory with
a natural hat trick. McHugh's 3rd goal at 18:00 in the 3rd gave Minnesota
their only lead of the night.
 
Spartan netminder Mike Buzak stopped 42 (unofficial) shots in a
spectacular effort. Gopher's dominated play in the 3rd period. Play
stayed in the Spartan zone throughout the period.
 
Gopher goalie, Jeff Callinan, gave up a goal on MSU's first shot on goal.
In the 2nd period Callinan blundered and gave State their 2nd goal when
he came out of the net to play a puck forward on the boards. Anson Carter
deposited the puck in an open net, shooting from an acute angle.
 
The Gopher's were flying in the third period, all lines clicking.
