Welcome to the 6th season of online college hockey!
I'm happy to report the current number of subscribers (832) to HOCKEY-L
approximates our high of last season. In addition, the number of local
redistributions continues to increase. Though it's impossible to know
how many people read HOCKEY-L via local redistributions, it's my opinion
that the number exceeds direct subscribers by a wide margin.
To enable you to get the most from HOCKEY-L, lets summarize a few of the
activities of the participants of this group.
0. This list is for the discussion of collegiate ice hockey, including
scores, team info, schedules, etc. allowing fans to become more
involved and knowledgeable about the game.
1. Post an article to the readership by sending mail to
[log in to unmask] Always provide an informative "Subject:"

hockey, will read your article.
I wish we didn't have to, but ...

4. Many people contribute to making HOCKEY-L the success it is. You will
be hearing from many of them in the coming weeks and months. I'll
mention just three here as any and all may save you a question of the
readership:
- Paulette Dwen is building the HOCKEY-L FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) file. Once completed later this season, it will be an
impressive collection of college hockey and HOCKEY-L information.
- Jim Teresco has compiled the HOCKEY-L TEAMINFO file. This file
contains, among other things, phone numbers and directions to
college hockey rinks ... and lots more.
- Mike Machnik has compiled the 9495COMP SCHEDULE file. This file
lists all Division I team games for this season and will be updated
weekly with scores. In addition to the composite file, individual
team files are also maintained by Mike and are available in the
archives.
- Lynn Burke is compiling the 9495D2-3 SCHEDULE file. This file
will list most or all Division II & III games this year.
5. In case it's not yet clear, there are *three* addresses that you might
