It'll be awhile until I get muster up enough enthusiasm to write any
comments after my Lowell Chief's devasting loss last night (my boss won't
be happy, but I'm far to depressed to do any work!), but I do want to
apologize to those who read my post regarding the TV coverage of the
tournament in the Boston area. (For those who didn't read it, I had posted
that Channel 50 (Derry, NH) was going to broadcast the UMass-Lowell - Minn
game last night).

I got my information regarding Channel 50 broadcasting the game from the
TV section in the Sports pages of the Boston Globe. One would think they
would be reliable. Turns out that Channel 50 was too busy broadcasting
some high-school girls basketball scrimmage and put the hockey game on
about 5 hour tape delay. SportChannel New England also had the game on
about an hour tape delay. I hope other college hockey fans in the
Boston/Lowell area will join me in complaining to the area stations about
the lack of coverage of this game.

Certainly Lowell does not draw a huge audience, but a high school girl's
basketball scrimmage? Please! I was initially going to write a letter
commending WNDS (Channel 50, Derry, NH) for picking up the UML and UNH
games Saturday night, but that letter has now turned into a complaint
letter! For those who don't know WNDS is the station that broadcasts
several UML home games a year. (Although they do a terrible job, at least
it's exposure)

I spent the first hour of the game in a furor - listening to it on the
radio and stomping around the house. I'm really sorry if I caused anybody
else any grief!
