I was going through some old mail and realized I had forgotten that I
wanted to respond to this.

Just wanted to note that the regulations don't allow coaches to do things
like this anymore. I know of quite a few situations in the past where
a team would play a terrible game and the coach would skate the team
immediately afterwards (even once when a team returned from a long bus trip
at about 4 am to find that the coach had called ahead to have the rink
opened and prepared for a practice as soon as they got back!). But it is
no longer allowed for a team to practice after playing a game, and I also
think there may be regulations on what time practices can be held but I'm
not sure. I know not many people are aware of this because I still hear
people say after an awful game that "the coach should send them back out to
skate."
