BOWDOIN 9 Conn. College 4
--------------------------
On Friday the Polar Bears met the Camels of Conn. College. While the
Camels are a strong team in [ECAC] N/S play, they are not quite at
Bowdoin's level. Bowdoin scored about 5 minutes into the first to take
a 1-0 lead. The offense looked good, putting a lot of pressure on the
Camels. We scored two more goals before Conn. Coll. could get one.
We picked up one more before the first intermission to lead 4-1 after
1. In the second there was no scoring for the first 10 minutes or so.
Then Bowdoin came up with 2 goals to take a 6-1 lead. It looked like
the rout was on. However, goalie Tom Sablak, showing why he is not
going to be the starting goaltender next year let in two weak goals to
let the Camels get to within 6-3 after 2. Bowdoin, though, came out
strong in the final period, picking up 3 more goals to Conn. College's
one to win the game by the score of 9-4. Sablak made approx. 24
saves, The Conn. College goalie had about 29 saves. In addition,
junior Chris Delaney broke out of a slump, scoring one goal and
getting two assists, and Brad Chin tied a ECAC record by ringing up 5
assists in the game.

BOWDOIN 9 Amherst 0
---------------------
On Saturday, Bowdoin met the Lord Jeffs of Amherst College. Unlike
the previous night's game, this one was never in question. The
offense kept the puck in the Amherst zone most of the evening, and
goalie Darren Hersh looked suburb in making 18 saves and recording his
first shutout of his career. In the first period, Bowdoin was
consistently in the Amherst zone, taking a total of 21 shots for the
period to Amherst's 5. Four of the shots went in, giving Bowdoin a
4-0 lead after one. The second period was like the first, with
Bowdoin again taking 21 shots to Amherst's 5. This time, three goals
were scored, all of them by So. Chris Cotu. These 3 goals, combined
with a goal he had in the first gave him 4 on the evening, one shy of
the ECAC record. The final period Bowdoin slowed down somewhat,
taking only 10 shots on goal. We picked up 2 goals, though, including
one by Brad Chin. That goal, combined with his 5 assists the previous
evening, leave him tied in second place on the all time goal scoring
list for Bowdoin with only 2 games to play in the regular season. He
is ranked 7th on the all-time point total list for the Polar Bears.
The final score was 9-0, the same score by which we defeated Amherst
the last time they visited Dayton Arena. Bowdoin took a total of 52
shots on goal to Amherst's 18.
